Paulina Sihakom, Co-Founder, Shares on How Assisting Hands Rockford is Giving Back to the Community<\/b><\/h4>\n

As a result of Assisting Hands<\/a> owner Paulina Sihakom\u2019s engagement and volunteerism,\u00a0 she was recognized in 2014 as one of the \u201c20 People You Should Know\u201d by the Rockford Chamber Of Commerce<\/a>.\u00a0 A community member since 1984, Paulina, her husband, and two children have immersed themselves in the community.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Growing Up with Strong Role Models<\/h5>\n

Paulina grew up with her grandmother in Laos, so this inspired her passion for caring for and advocating for the senior community.\u00a0 As a Laos refugee immigrant herself, she is passionate about helping socially and economically disadvantaged community members. She helps them improve their lives by connecting them to resources for education and social services in the Rockford area.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI find it an honor to care for our senior community members. They have many great life experiences and stories that I can learn and help pass on to my children,\u201d Paulina shares.\u00a0 \u201cLiving in Rockford has many wonderful amenities.\u00a0 Like all communities, we have opportunities to improve as well.\u00a0 For that reason, I have served on many various nonprofit boards in Rockford i.e. YWCA Northwestern<\/a>,\u00a0 Goodwill of Northern Illinois<\/a> and the Lao American Association of Northern Illinois<\/a>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Passionate for Her Business, Helping Others 24-Hours a Day \/ 7-Days a Week<\/h5>\n

Together, with her partner Jennifer Dexter, they bring nearly 50 years of professional experience to <\/span>Assisting Hands to provide non-medical in-home healthcare to area residents. They do this in the privacy of a client\u2019s home or assisted living facility, so they are available 24\/7\u2013 including overnight care.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Assisting Hands caregivers go through an extensive training program, so they are connected in the healthcare community. They also coordinate services such as rehabilitation, assisted living, palliative care, hospice and even financial, beauty salons, etc. Assisting Hands Rockford is giving back to the community in so many ways.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
