Meet the Team

Keisha and Dean Johnson

Owners and Local Operators of Assisting Hands Home Care

Keisha has worked in the technology, banking and education fields as well as her most important role as a stay at home mom for their three boys. She holds a degree in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University in Upstate NY. Dean spent over 20 years working for Fortune 500 insurance companies in leadership roles of increasing scope and responsibility. He has extensive experience in customer service, business development and executive level leadership specifically in the disability, life and long term care industries. Dean holds a degree in Public Policy Analysis from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. Their broad business backgrounds and experience in providing products and services for the disabled community leave them well equipped to serve the elderly and disabled in their local area.

Keisha, a Certified Nursing Assistant, will serve as the President of their local agency which will be based in Woodstock, MD. She will run the day-day operations of the business and manage the recruiting and hiring of qualified caregivers. Dean will own the business development responsibilities for the agency as well as serve as an Area Representative to help other aspiring entrepreneurs start, build and grow their own Assisting Hands agency in Maryland or Northern Virginia.

Taking personal responsibility for the services they provide in the community will be the core foundation of their business. The Assisting Hands Team will serve their clients with respect and dignity and assist them in maintaining their independence. We will help our clients focus on what they can do, not what they can’t, allowing our clients to achieve the best possible lifestyle.

Keisha and Dean have lived in Howard County since 2006 and are proud to service clients in both Howard and Carroll Counties. They like to spend their free time coaching, managing teams and watching their boys play various sports, and providing support for the local school system. Please let us know how we can help you and your family.

Amanda Scott

Director of Nursing

I have been a Registered Nurse for 10 years, spending most of my time in a busy Emergency Department as well as Home Health and more recently Oncology. I love building relationships with my patients and clients and being there to support them in every way possible. I am excited to begin this new chapter in my nursing career as I assist in maximizing clients quality of life while keeping them safe in their homes.
I grew up in Harford County and currently live there with my husband and 3 little boys. When I am not working I enjoy playing with my dog, spending time with family and friends, camping, watching football, and cheering on as well as coaching my boys in basketball, flag football and baseball.
