VA Home Health Aide (HHA) Homemaker\/ Home Health Program<\/h2>\n

Eligible veterans and their spouses can get up to 12 hours of care per week with our VA home health aide program.\u00a0 Recipients must complete a geriatric extended care (GEC) evaluation by a social worker (SW), medical doctor (MD), and registered nurse (RN) and meet one of the following criteria:<\/p>\n

  • Significant cognitive impairment<\/li>\n
  • Dependency for 3 or more activities of daily living<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    VA Respite Program<\/h2>\n

    Senior veterans who need temporary home care can get it through our VA respite care program.\u00a0 This program is ideal for veterans who receive care from a family caregiver and need additional help to give the family caregiver time off.\u00a0 Recipients must complete an interdisciplinary evaluation for geriatric extended care (GEC) by a registered nurse (RN), medical doctor (MD), and social worker (SW) and meet one of the following criteria:<\/p>\n

    • Dependency for 3 or more ADLs<\/li>\n
    • Significant cognitive impairment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
