Thinking About Our Homes for the Holidays
At Assisting Hands Home Care, we know that everyone’s home is as unique as they are. Trust us, we visit a lot of homes! Some people have big bustling families with multiple generations living in a house, and some people live alone in the house their children grew up in. Some people, such as our friends at Luther Village, live in villas or apartments.
One thing all homes have in common is they are a place of comfort. Your home is a place where you live every day in your own special space. Your home is a place where friends and family, and helpers like our caregivers at Assisting Hands Home Care, all gather to help make you feel comfortable, cared for…and jolly!
Holiday Homes Craft Project
This year for the holidays, to help spread some happy Assisting Hands Home Care cheer and to make some homes feel merry and bright, we did a little Holiday Houses giveaway project at Luther Village in Arlington Heights. If they were interested, residents of Luther Village could mail in their choice of three different holiday house designs to display on the shelves outside of their apartments. Here in the office, we had a holly jolly elf project of painting, hot gluing, and putting together some holiday homes!
We had a blast getting a little paint on our hands that are usually busy assisting! It was truly a joy to get hands-on in a new way, arts-and-crafting to make a village of houses for our friends at Luther Village. Working with your hands can be such a rewarding project for anyone to feel accomplished and proud, and is by the way, a wonderfully therapeutic activity for people with dementia, seniors in general and indeed people of all ages! It certainly got us into the holiday spirit.
Our goal at Assisting Hands is to always help people feel safe, comfortable and joyful in their own homes, whatever your home make look like. We enjoyed spreading Holiday cheer with our Holiday Homes project at Luther Village, and we know all of our caregivers will be spreading joy all season long.
