for our VA home care programs, you or your loved one must first apply for VA benefits with the Department of Veterans Affairs.\u00a0 We offer a VA home health care program and respite care program for those who do qualify for VA benefits.\u00a0 Your loved ones can expect complete home care services from our highly trained and licensed caregivers through these programs.\u00a0 Our caregivers will provide compassionate care that covers your loved one\u2019s needs including personal assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), meal preparation, light housekeeping, and more.<\/p>\n<p>Veterans and their spouses in need of home care may qualify for one of the following VA programs offered by Assisting Hands Home Care:<\/p>\n<h2>VA Home Health Aide (HHA) Homemaker\/ Home Health Program<\/h2>\n<p>The VA Home Health Aide program provides up to 12 hours per week of home health care services for veterans.\u00a0 When applying for this program, seniors must complete an assessment to receive geriatric extended care (GEC) from a social worker (SW), registered nurse (RN), or medical doctor (MD).<\/p>\n<p>An individual must also meet the following criteria to qualify:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have a dependency with 3 or more activities of daily living (ADLs)<\/li>\n<li>Exhibit cognitive impairment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>VA Respite Program<strong><img
