As with every working industry this season, in Home Care we\u2019ve quickly adjusted to a new way of operating around here. We wanted to keep our clients in the loop about any changes to our services:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Limiting Exposure<\/strong>: We are limiting exposure as much as we possibly can. That means, we are trying to stabilize our cases with ideally, one or two caregivers per client. That way, the caregiver is expected to only visit one family, and return home. This setup is not always possible, but we strive for the fewest number of caregivers possible.<\/li>\n
  2. Providing PPE<\/strong>: We do have gloves, antibacterial soap, and masks at the office. We have a limited number of paper masks, and cloth masks that were generously made & donated by one of our local families. Please notify us as early as possible if you are running low. We can leave a bag for the caregiver on the door at the office or drop off supplies at your home.<\/li>\n
  3. Supervisory Visit Requirement Lifted<\/strong>: The Illinois Department of Public Health has lifted the requirement for field staff to visit homes on a quarterly basis. Please continue to stay in touch with our staff about any changes in your loved one\u2019s condition or feedback about our home care services<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  4. Office Staff Working Remotely<\/strong>: We are limiting office staff to 1 person at a time in our Arlington Heights office. We are still fully staffed with everyone working remotely. Thankfully, our phone system allows us to answer calls on the same line (847) 908-1525<\/a>. You can contact us between 8:30 – 5:00 pm for general inquiries or press 1 when you hear the voice recording for after-hours support.<\/li>\n
  5. Caregiver Expectations:<\/strong> Caregivers have all been assigned a special COVID-19 training. Before they are able to clock in, caregivers are expected to answer 4 questions:\n

    1. Have you or a member of your household been experiencing any symptoms of COVID-1, including fever, cough, or shortness of breath?<\/li>\n
    2. Have you or a member of your household been out of the country within the last 14 – 18 days?<\/li>\n
    3. Have you or a member of your household been in close contact with anyone who has been tested, diagnosed or told by a medical professional they may have COVID-19?<\/li>\n
    4. Have you or a member of your household been in close contact with anyone who has traveled overseas or to a high-risk area within the last 14 – 18 days?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      We strongly encourage caregivers to monitor their temperature before reporting to work.<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Adjusting Schedules:<\/strong> Some families have chosen to adjust their schedules to limit the number of caregivers who visit. We are happy to work with you. Just give us a call.<\/strong><\/li>\n
      2. Reaching out to families for support:<\/strong> The safety of your loved one is our top priority. If there is a chance any of the individual have been exposed directly or indirectly to COVID-19<\/a>, we will notify you immediately and ask the caregiver to quarantine for a minimum of 14 days.<\/li>\n
      3. Assisting Hands Arlington Heights is NOT accepting COVID-19 positive clients.<\/strong> Some home care agencies are accepting COVID-19 positive clients. If you need a referral to one of those agencies, please contact the office.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        We believe home is truly the safest place for your loved one<\/strong>. Think of the caregiver\u2019s visit as that of a family member or friend who is expected to take the utmost precautions inside and outside of work.<\/p>\n
