Illinois Begins to Reopen\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

We are nearing the end of Illinois\u2019 Shelter in Place order to which we have adapted for over 2 months, and we are entering Phase 3 of Illinois\u2019 recovery plan. At Assisting Hands, that means spending some more time in the office as we shift back to normal from our remote work. It also means looking forward to the future as we welcome new clients who need support as COVID-19<\/a> continues to change our world.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Assisting Hands Home Care Looks to the Future<\/span><\/h2>\n

As our lives and restrictions change again, it is so important to remember that everyone in our community is a little different, and that is okay! There is a metaphor that has been making the rounds about this pandemic: we are in the same storm but in different boats! Everyone has different situations and levels of risk, and also different feelings about what they are comfortable with. Some of our clients\u2019 families will be going back to work. Some of our clients and their families are able to continue to stay at home. In the coming weeks, some of our clients and their families will begin to ease back into more activities from their normal lives, but with precautions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Safety Precautions\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

The same rules that we have been following during the Shelter in Place are just as important, if not more important now that we are re-opening. There will be more opportunities for contact with more and more business opening, but we can be proactive about our protection! Please remember our same guidelines as you begin to venture out more and more. Keeping at least 6 feet away from others (further is better!), wearing a mask, and washing your hands are all easy steps we can still take moving forward.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How We Can Help<\/span><\/h2>\n

\"Caregiver<\/p>\n

Assisting Hands has been an essential business throughout this pandemic, and we continue to be ready to serve our community! Having a caregiver in your home is a low-risk way to introduce one person into your loved one\u2019s life if they are needing some help! Caregivers can do so much for you or your family member in this still new and different time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Grocery store runs.
    \n<\/strong>Let our caregiver go to the store safely or swing by the store for a pick up if your senior is still staying at home. <\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Helping with household chores and projects.
    \n<\/strong>
    \n<\/span>Our caregivers can cook a healthy meal to keep your senior eating well even if they have slowed down on cooking themselves. Our caregivers can also help your senior tackle that organizing project, or simply help relieve some of the work of everyday chores.\u00a0 <\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Having fun around the house!
    \n<\/strong>
    \n<\/span>A huge part of what we do at Assisting Hands is provide much-needed     companionship<\/a> to the seniors in our communities. Especially in these times of isolation, our caregivers are ready to be that friendly visitor to bring a new spark of joy into your senior\u2019s life! Let us come by to play a game or look at photo albums or just have a chat, all while checking in on your family member to make sure they are staying safe and comfortable in their homes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
