Today Assisting Hands Home Care Houston announced it will host a booth at the Franchise Expo South in Houston, offering information about opportunities to potential franchisees. The Houston-area franchise owner, Terri Robbins, and the corporate franchise sales director, Dianne Wright, will offer information about Assisting Hands’ model of in-home care services in booth 773 at the NRG Convention Center February 5 – 7.
“I am passionate about the difference our caregivers make in the lives of our clients and their families,” said Assisting Hands Home Care Houston president and owner Terri Robbins. “I hope to meet others who share my passion of serving and enabling individuals to live at home in safety, comfort and dignity.”
Robbins’ desire for home health care stems from a dream she and her mother, Claire Gulsby, had of owning and operating a hospice business. Before they could launch the business, her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Robbins became the primary caregiver for her mother, bathing and dressed her mom, prepared meals, tidied up the house daily. As a mom herself, it was a lot to juggle while caring for her own family. After three years, her mother lost her battle with breast cancer, and that’s when Robbins decided to launch a business that would offer support to families who needed help for loved ones.
“When you are taking care of someone else, you can forget to take care of yourself,” said Robbins. “And when that happens you aren’t good physically or emotionally to care for your loved one.”
