Hospice Care

Planning for End-of-Life Care

Planning for the end of life process is a strenuous experience faced by all who are affected. It is a difficult reality to come to terms with for both the diagnosed and their families.

Unfortunately, the burden can fall heavily on the ones caring for elderly or ill parents, which is why it is important to have those conversations before your loved one receives a limited life expectancy diagnosis. Talking about end of life planning is not an easy, so show empathy, but be firm. It is essential to ensure your loved one puts their wishes in writing to receive the care they desire.

Hospice

Hospice care comes in many forms depending on the type of medical care that is needed. Patients opting for hospice care understand they have limited life expectancy and may opt to spend their remaining days at peace by doing so in their own home.

How Assisting Hands Helps

At Assisting Hands Home Care, we pride ourselves in giving families and clients the ability to age comfortably in their own home.

When a family member is given finite life expectancy, we believe they should be able to keep their dignity and continuing live their days in the calmness of their own home, surrounded by loved ones and receiving proper care.

Assisting Hands Caregivers

Assisting Hands caregivers are trained to provide non-medical assistance to our clients for a dignified end of life. Those services include:

  • medication reminders
  • bathing, grooming, and clothing
  • housekeeping
  • meal preparation
  • compassionate, one-on-one companionship

With Assisting Hands, each client is given the ability to live and pass, with dignity. Our caregivers work with your family and your loved one’s hospice provider to ensure end of life care is provided according to their plan.
