Gerry Patrizio, CSA, CDP, Owner

Assisting Hands Home Care, serving Mercer, Monmouth & Ocean Counties, is managed by  Gerry Patrizio, owner. Gerry is a Certified Senior Advisor, Certified Dementia Practitioner and received his MBA in International Finance from Wagner College. Gerry brings over 25 years’ experience from the financial services industry consisting of professional business management and exceptional client service. Gerry is committed to providing outstanding customer service to our clients and peace of mind to their families. Gerry’s main focus is to offer personalized home care to older adults and others in need.

Gerry has been an active member of the community serving as commissioner for Pop Warner Football and has also been an active participant in events benefiting the Special Olympics of New Jersey. Gerry resides in Manalapan Township with his wife Maria and their three children.

Gerry’s motivation to serve the community and the elderly stems from his own personal experience after undergoing spine surgery requiring several months recuperation where he was a fall risk; Gerry was fortunate to have his family available to care for him in the comfort of his home. Gerry is committed to ensuring that all our clients are happy and well cared for in their familiar environment.

Miriam "Mimi" Barroso, RN, BSN, CDP Director of Nursing

Mimi brings years of health care and administration experience as she returns to  Assisting Hands to lead our clinical care leadership as director of nursing.

Mimi oversees all clinical aspects of client care. She assesses each client and works with them to develop a plan of care that not only meets the client’s needs but is a source of support to their significant other and family members as well.

Mimi meets with clients and caregivers regularly to review and revise the plan of care as needed while establishing and maintaining a team approach to providing care.

She also educates all caregivers on the importance of client dignity and respect while providing direct client care to allow clients to maintain their self-worth and independence

As the Director of Nursing for Assisting Hands, Mimi's goal is to provide the utmost quality of care to the client and their family members in a harmonious routine that provides comfort and support to all.

Her exceptional career includes home care, hospice, facility and corporate health care work in executive leadership positions where was responsible for clinical care and development of staff. She has extensive experience in managing all aspects of care in a variety of settings.

Victoria Hurley-Schubert, Director of Community Relations & Communications

Victoria Hurley-SchubertVikki brings more than 20 years of award-winning public relations and communications experience to Assisting Hands. She has worked with B2B and B2C clients delivering impactful, strategic communications. She excels at executing a business visions and developing meaningful connections.

For Vikki, home care is very personal. Her mom received more than three years of in-home care while she worked through numerous health challenges. “Without professional caregivers, I would not have been able to honor my mom’s wishes and keep her at home. The aides enabled me to rest easier and continue working, knowing she was being looked after.”

Nothing makes Vikki happier than to spend time with family and friends. She is a perpetual Disney nerd and dreams of retirement seeing the world from the balcony of a cruise ship. Learn more about Vikki.
