People who cannot independently complete their activities of daily living are at risk for unsafe living conditions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Illness, surgical procedures, or chronic conditions can impair someone&#8217;s ability to complete all the activities of daily living at any age.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\tActivities of Daily Living (ADLs): Basic Needs\n\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assistinghands.com\/29\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/132\/2023\/03\/Personal-Care-WEB-e1678481583838.jpg\" alt=\"Personal Care WEB\" height=\"457\" width=\"408\" title=\"Personal Care WEB\" \/>\n\t<ul>\n<li>Bathing and showering:\u00a0Bathing or showering can be dangerous or difficult for those with physical or cognitive limitations, but it is important for overall health to bathe regularly. Our caregivers are carefully trained to assist your loved ones with their bath or shower, ensuring their safety and dignity.<\/li>\n<li>Personal hygiene and grooming&amp;lt:\u00a0We understand that personal appearance is important. We assist your loved ones with hygiene and grooming activities to help them maintain their appearance.<\/li>\n<li>Dressing:\u00a0Our caregivers help your loved ones dress for the day in the morning and then for bed at night.<\/li>\n<li>Transferring\/Ambulating:\u00a0If your loved ones have limited mobility, we help them with transferring including getting in and out of bed, a chair, wheelchair, and the car. We also ensure they use assistive devices such as walkers or canes and provide support if they cannot walk independently.<\/li>\n<li>Toileting\/Continence care:\u00a0If your loved one struggles with using the restroom or incontinence, our caregivers will assist while focusing on dignity and safety.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>\n\t\tInstrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs): Self-Care Tasks to Maintain Independence\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<ul>\n<li>Light housework:\u00a0Our caregivers will do light housework to help keep the home sanitary and tidy.\u00a0Your caregiver can provide services such as vacuuming, washing dishes, laundry, dusting, bed making, sweeping, taking out the trash, and any other light housekeeping tasks you or a loved one might require.<\/li>\n<li>Meal preparation:\u00a0Overall health and well-being can be improved by ensuring your loved one is receiving healthy, well-balanced meals. In addition to tasting better, nutritious meals play an important role in maintaining good health. An Assisting Hands\u00ae\u00a0caregiver can do everything from grocery shopping to preparing meals following any special diet, to serving the meal, providing eating assistance and cleaning up afterward. Just let us know your situation and we will provide tailored services to your individual needs.<\/li>\n<li>Medication reminders:\u00a0Our caregivers will remind your loved ones to take their medication at the proper time.
