Special Service for Those Who Have Served<\/p>\n

\n\t\tVeteran Care in Monmouth and Ocean Counties\n\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\"VA\n\t

Veterans are extra special clients to all of us at Assisting Hands Home Care.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Veterans could be eligible for home care assistance and Assisting Hands is an authorized provider for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA) through the Community Care Program. We also work with local attorneys and Veteran Care Services, to help veterans secure their Aid and Attendance benefits.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The VA Aid and Attendance program offers a pension to wartime veterans that can be used toward in-home care for veterans, their spouses or widows with personal care needs<\/a>\u00a0on a routine basis. A professional Assisting Hands caregiver can come and assist veterans and\/or their spouses in taking care of themselves.<\/p>\n\t

Our licensed, bonded and insured caregivers offer compassionate, quality care to help veterans age safely in their own homes. We learn the specific needs of you or your loved one during an assessment and create a care plan that covers those needs and supervises the caregivers to ensure the best outcome.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Assisting Hands is a proud partner with the Department of Veterans Affairs as a provider in the Community Care Network (CCN). The VA CCN provides supportive services to help chronically ill or disabled eligible Veterans of any age remain in their home.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

These services are referred to as home care and are considered extended care services prescribed by and under the direction of a VA physician. Veterans may be eligible for professional home care from a VA-approved agency wherever they call home. This program is for Veterans who need personal care services and help with activities of daily living.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This program is also for Veterans who are isolated, or whose main caregiver is experiencing a burden.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The VA offers\u00a0a caregiver assessment<\/a>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

All enrolled (VHA Standard Medical Benefits Package) are eligible if they meet the clinical need for services.\u00a0Our VA\u00a0services\u00a0include assistance with\u00a0activities of daily living<\/a>\u00a0(ADLs) and other daily tasks like light housekeeping, transportation, and meal preparation.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Another veteran program that can be used to pay for home care services is Aid & Attendance.<\/p>\n

VA Aid and Attendance or Housebound benefits provide monthly payments added to the amount of a monthly VA pension for qualified wartime veterans and surviving spouses. If a veteran is in need of help with daily activities or is housebound, they may qualify for this pension program.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2023 Benefit amounts are:<\/p>\n

Married veteran: $2,642 or $31,704 annually<\/p>\n

Single veteran: $2,229 or $26,748 annually<\/p>\n

Surviving spouse: $1,432 or $17,184 annually<\/p>\n
