Assisting Hands Home Care is a Sea Girt-based company that provides professional in-home care services to clients so they can remain safe and happy at home.<\/p>\n

Gerry Patrizio, Assisting Hands Home Care owner, CSA and Miriam Barroso, RN, BSN, director of nursing, earned the CDP designation from the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a leader in home care for those with long-term memory-altering illnesses such as dementia and Alzheimer\u2019s, we take education seriously,\u201d said Patrizio, who is also a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA). \u201cHealth care is a career of lifelong learning. We will be sharing the best practices we learned with our caregivers to enhance their skills. Everyone in our office, including our caregivers, are required to take continuing education so we can continue to provide award-winning care.\u201d<\/p>\n

Assisting Hands Home Care recently\u00a0received both the 2022 Best of Home Care<\/a>\u00ae \u2013 Provider of Choice and Employer of Choice Awards from Home Care Pulse. It is the only home care agency in Mercer and Monmouth Counties to be recognized with both awards and one of two in Ocean County. This is the\u00a0third year in a row<\/a>\u00a0that the agency has been named a Provider of Choice.<\/p>\n

The CDP certification represents that the front-line staff and health care professional has received comprehensive knowledge in dementia care, achievement in completing the Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care course\/seminar, met the NCCDP requirements for CDP certification, applied for the CDP certification and received the CDP certification. The CDP commits to ongoing professional development through NCCDP Staff Education Week or other educational opportunities and re-certification every two years.<\/p>\n
