The Explorium Exhibit, the institution’s staple display that runs all year round, is a hands-on exhibit designed by the staff and is made with various interesting components for the children to explore and scrutinize. The exhibit intends to hold the interest of visitors and their inborn curiosity by creating a system that makes one want to explore and build their individual understanding of the world. There are also traveling exhibits in the Explorium every year, once during spring and once during the fall season. Apart from their staples, the Science Explorium also has existing programs for schools devised to challenge and inspire elementary students’ science learning and understanding through hands-on, inquiry-based activities. All school programs are around one hour long and mostly target state and federal schools for science learning.
In the grander scheme of things, Boca Raton FL’s Children’s Science Explorium is located in the popular Sugar Sand Park, a 132-acre park that aims to provide recreation and culture for both residents and visitors. Apart from the Explorium, there is also the Willow Theatre, several nature trails, the science playground, the carousel, and the Field House which features an indoor gymnasium. The park prides itself on being a community center for science learning and cultural understanding.
