Glenn Brass<\/u>, Co-Owner & President<\/u><\/h3>\n

As president of Assisting Hands Home Care of North Houston, Glenn Brass draws from his experience in the United States Air Force. While serving, Brass spent many years working in several areas of the health care — duties in the operating room, in health care administration, serving as a medical regional manager and medical spine representative. Brass’ own mother received home care services. \u201cSeeing how happy she is with her caregiver and with being able to live in her own home, it was then I knew this was the type of business I wanted to be in.\u201d<\/p>\n

The well-being of clients is of the utmost importance. He takes his mission statement for the Assisting Hands Home Care of North Houston from Scripture.\u00a0\u201cMy business is being managed with a Christian mindset,” said Brass. \u201cPhilippians 2:3-4 \u2018Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,\u00a0not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.\u2019\u201d Brass is a long-time resident of North Houston.<\/p>\n

Terri Robbins, Co-Owner & Alternate Administrator<\/u><\/h3>\n

Her desire for home health care stems from a dream she and her mother, Claire Gulsby, had of owning and operating a hospice business.\u00a0 Before they could launch the business, her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.<\/p>\n

A stay-at-home mom at the time, Robbins became the primary caregiver for her mother.\u00a0 Every day after she dropped off her children at school, she headed to her parent\u2019s home.\u00a0 She bathed and dressed her mom, prepared meals, tidied up the house in between housekeeper visits.\u00a0 When she left to pick up her children from school, her mom was left in the care of her dad, sister-in-law and other family members. This went on for three years.<\/p>\n

In 1998, Gulsby lost her battle against breast cancer.\u00a0 Divorced, with her children in college, Robbins decided to pursue her entrepreneurial dream.<\/p>\n

Looking to launch her own business \u2014 she assumed in food \u2014 a franchise broker presented Assisting Hands Home Care to her after learning the story of how Terri took care of her mom and their desire to own a hospice business.<\/p>\n

Robbins took the broker\u2019s advice and began her due diligence.\u00a0She Joined the Assisting Hands\u00a0Home Care family as a franchise owner and regional developer in Houston, Texas. In May 2008, she opened her business in Humble<\/a> to serve Northeast Houston seniors and other residents needing non-medical home health care services.<\/p>\n

Assisting Hands\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0Houston is one of nearly 100 franchise locations across the United States. Assisting Hands offers a comprehensive menu of services that includes non-medical companionship and personal care services, skilled nursing, and total care management that fill the gap between living at home with dignity, and the need for institutionalized medical care.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
