But when you’re talking to your elderly family member, you need to stay calm and use a calm voice. That helps your elderly family member to stay calm as well and can keep the situation from blowing up into one that is out of your control entirely.<\/p>\n

Reassure Your Senior Often<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alzheimer’s disease brings a lot of changes to your caregiving journey and to your aging family member. Those changes can be terrifying for her and as such, she might be seeking a lot more reassurance than she ever has before. Take the time to remember that this is scary for her and offer reassurance as often as you can.<\/p>\n

Written Cues and Reminders Can Help<\/strong><\/p>\n
