As a volunteer for the Alzheimer\u2019s Association<\/a>, Marina Ramirez<\/a> recently gave a presentation titled Healthy Body \/ Healthy Brain at the Palm Beach County Library \u2013 Greenacres campus.<\/p>\n

People are often surprised because many of the habits which support a healthy body are also essential for a healthy brain.\u00a0 Research published in Alzheimer’s & Dementia: The Journal of the Alzheimer’s Association, offers 10 tips on healthy lifestyle changes that may reduce the risk of cognitive decline:<\/p>\n

  3. Butt out.<\/li>\n
  4. Follow your heart.<\/li>\n

  7. Catch some Zzz’s.<\/li>\n
  8. Take care of your mental health.<\/li>\n
  9. Buddy up.<\/li>\n
  10. Stump yourself.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Alzheimer’s is the sixth-leading cause of death. Currently, 5.7 million people in the U.S., \u00a0are living with the only major disease without a prevention, treatment or cure.<\/p>\n

    Alzheimer’s Association researchers remind people that the steps they take to ensure a healthy heart and body are keys to maintaining a vibrant brain, and may provide some defense.<\/p>\n

    Marina is owner and President of Assisting Hands\u00ae Palm Beach<\/a>, also volunteers as Logistics Chair for the 2019 West Palm Beach Walk to End Alzheimer’s which will be held on October 19, 2019 at the Meyer Amphitheatre<\/a>.<\/p>\n
