To All Assisting Hands Clients and Families
Last week, Pinellas County instituted a “Safer At Home” Order, asking all residents to stay at home as much as possible except for necessities such as groceries, medical needs or banking. Additionally, non-essential businesses were asked to close their storefronts.
The good news: Assisting Hands has been deemed an Essential Business and we are here to help as we continue to follow CDC and Florida Department of Health protocols. All Assisting Hands employees have been properly trained and are following all the necessary precautions to help you stay at home safely during these turbulent times. It is much safer for you to get proper care and support at home and prevent any unnecessary visits to healthcare providers at this time. Assisting Hands is with you to help you and your family!
We have implemented a self-screening process for caregivers per CDC and Florida Department of Health guidelines. Caregivers are notifying us and not reporting to work sick. Our RN, Sandy is clearing any aides before they are permitted to return to work. Additionally, we are screening clients daily by phone. If at any point a caregiver comes in contact with a client showing symptoms of COVID-19, she will not be assigned to a client until she has been cleared.
All caregivers are supplied with gloves and face masks as well as hand sanitizer. As disposable face masks are becoming shorter in supply, and we continue to reach out to our supply chain, all caregivers have been supplied with at least one, and in many cases, two Fabric Face masks. These have been generously made by volunteers in the Pinellas County community. We thank them for their support in keeping our seniors Safer At Home!
Caregivers are directed to wear a face mask when:
- Working within 6 feet of their client
- Providing any personal care services
The safest place for our clients to be right now is at home, and we are navigating these challenging circumstances to the best of our ability to help keep them there.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to our office. Please be safe, and we appreciate you giving us the opportunity to be of service to you!
