Working in the senior care community, I see a lot of different situations. The ones that pain me most are those seniors who have no family and little to no financial security. That’s why I’m excited every year to support Silver Santas.
Silver Santas is a grassroots project that provides gifts during the holiday season to isolated and low-income seniors.
The needy seniors who are in danger of being forgotten this holiday season are identified by professional Guardians, Case/Social Workers, Senior Community/Activity Directors, and other professionals who work for Providers serving the senior population. These names are submitted along with a few wishlist items. Gift tags for the recipients are placed on trees at various locations in Pinellas County each November.
Assisting Hands Serving Pinellas is excited to host our Annual Silver Santa party again this year on Wednesday, November 20. The party is 4pm-6pm at our office at 6251 Park Blvd, Suite 7, Pinellas Park, FL 33781.
Come to the party and pick a tag and bring it back by December 6. Or call us to RSVP and ask us to send you a tag. We’ll take a snap a shot of a tag and either text or email the pic to you! Call us at 727-748-4211.
The Silver Santas program was created by Better Living for Seniors, which is affiliated with the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc.

Becky Moultrie is Owner and Administrator of Assisting Hands Home Care Serving Pinellas. Guided by a motto to Do Good with Love, she’s well positioned to do just that at Assisting Hands. She has a passion for helping families keep seniors and those who are diabled happy and healthy at home. She serves on a number of boards in Pinellas County including the Pinellas Park Gateway Chamber and Better Living Seniors (BLS), leading the Membership Committee. Annually, she hosts a Silver Santa Party, collecting donations for nearly 100 low income seniors in the county. She attends Blessed Sacrament Church, Seminole where she is an Ascribed Member of the Rosminian Order. When not busy Doing Good in the community, Becky is at home with her husband David & their 4 children, tending to their beehives and digging in the garden.
