May is National Barbecue Month and it\u2019s a great time to think about how to make your upcoming summer barbecues more friendly and accessible for your senior parent. Getting together to enjoy some warm weather and great food is a lot of fun. But if you have a senior parent coming over there are some things that you should do to make sure that your senior parent can comfortably join in the fun and enjoy all the great food like:<\/p>\n

Get Senior-Friendly Seating<\/h2>\n

Outdoor seating at picnic tables can be difficult for seniors who may have trouble lifting their legs over a picnic table seat or getting up from a picnic table situation. When you are planning your outdoor celebrations and meals make sure that there is some senior friendly seating. Outdoor couches and easy chairs with side tables are fantastic for seniors. But regular dining tables with sturdy low chairs are a good option also. Bar stools or tall chairs are not a good choice for senior friendly seating.
