Consumers can purchase qualifying hurricane preparedness supplies without tax during the holiday that takes place from May 28 to June 10.<br \/>\nNew this year; pet supplies have been added. Please see the attached flyer for additional information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2022 Florida Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday Quick Facts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday began in 2014.<br \/>\n\u2022 The Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday runs from Saturday, May 28 thru Friday, June 10, 2022.<br \/>\n\u2022 In 2021, it was a 10 day holiday, this year has been extended to 14 days.<br \/>\n\u2022 Examples of tax-free items include flashlights and lanterns costing $40 or less; radios costing $50 or less; tarps costing $100 or less, coolers costing $60 or less, batteries costing $50 or less; and generators costing $1,000 or less.<br \/>\n\u2022 Following the impact of a hurricane, residents may lose access to basic services, such as power and water, and be subject to limited or no access to essentials like food, drinking water and medicine.
