Since 2015, Assisting Hands Home Care Serving Pinellas has been helping needy seniors each Holiday Season. This year, it\u2019s more important than ever to help these seniors who have felt the pinch of rising inflation.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve teamed up with Better Living for Seniors for the seventh year in a row to support the Silver Santas program<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\" Silver Santas works with Pinellas County Assisted Living Facilities, Senior Housing Communities, and area social services to identify seniors on Medicaid who have limited support structures that hinder their ability to purchase everyday toiletries like body wash, shampoo, shaving supplies. Wish lists are created and then summarized onto wish list tags which are hung on trees at local businesses.<\/p>\n

This year, Assisting Hands has joined with the Pinellas Park Gateway Chamber located in the Park Station at 5851 Park Blvd, Pinellas Park, FL 33781 to be a tree site and help distribute wish lists. As of November 9, 2022, the tree is up and tags are ready to be selected! Each tag includes the senior\u2019s first name, their age and gender as well as any special preferences and 3 wish list items. Requests may be as simple as a set of new crew socks to a night gown to a new pair of gym shoes. Each wish list has been personalized to that senior.<\/p>\n

Pick a tag off our tree, or call Assisting Hands at 727-748-4211 and we\u2019ll pull a tag for you. Shopping should be completed by December 2, 2022 and all gifts returned to the Pinellas Park Chamber no later than 5pm that day. No wrapping necessary as we inspect all gifts to make sure each and every seniors\u2019 wish lists are filled completely. Any missing items are filled with items donated to the organization or purchased with donated funds.<\/p>\n
