Gary is owner and president of Assisting Hands of Wayne, and a life-long resident of northern New Jersey. Prior to opening Assisting Hands, Gary worked 30 years in accounting and financial systems management, servicing Fortune 500 companies in the pharmaceutical, publishing, entertainment, and manufacturing sectors.
Over the years, Gary has continued to be a leader in community, church and civic organizations, while coaching his children, Danielle and Christopher, in various team sports.
Wanting to “make a difference in people’s lives”, Gary has been inspired to help those needing care of their loved ones, particularly with his own family members requiring personal assistance. Combining passion to serve others, coupled with extensive business skills, has lead Gary to cherish the opportunity to provide services to clients wishing to maintain their independence, yet not be limited to moving to an assisted living facility. “To be home is to feel at home”.
As in sports, our Assisting Hands team will work together, providing the best service possible. Our clients are special, and mean everything to our organization.

Mary Beth Mackey, Field Nurse – RN, BSN
As a Field Nurse for Assisting Hands, I apply my hospital experience to homecare and create an individualized care plan so clients can continue living as independently as possible. My personal experience includes having had Assisting Hands aides provide care for my own parents. I travel to the home of new clients to assess their condition and determine a list of their daily needs. I continue to supervise the home health aides to ensure they have the knowledge and understanding of how they can provide the best care.
In my spare time I like to take walks with my dog and work in my yard.
