Sandra T is Assisting Hands of West Austin’s Caregiver of the Year! Sandra is patient, kind, and compassionate, and radiates the warm nature of a tried and true caregiver. During the Snowstorm known as “SNOVID” that hit Texas February 15, 2021, Sandra was working with her client Evelyn, a 99 year old woman that Sandra has worked with for almost a year. When the roads iced over people’s power\u00a0and water was going out, Sandra communicated to our office “I’ll stay all week, I will be here”.\u00a0 When power still wasn’t restored, Sandra and Evelyn safely made it to Sandra’s sister’s home, where there was power, heat, water, and food. Sandra called our office that evening and you could hear Evelyn in the background. Sandra said they had set Evelyn up in the plushest recliner and all the blankets, and she was in the comfy chair sipping tortilla soup. Sandra truly treats her clients like family, and in the face of a crisis, showed us all what compassion and resilience looks like. We are so proud to have Sandra on our team.
