That number is expected to rise to 1.2 million by 2030. Around 60,000 people are diagnosed with Parkinson\u2019s every year.<\/p>\n<h2>What is Parkinson\u2019s disease?<\/h2>\n<p>It is a nervous system disorder that affects someone\u2019s muscular control. There is no specific cause and no known cure for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/parkinsons-disease\/symptoms-causes\/syc-20376055\">Parkinson\u2019s disease<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Early signs and symptoms include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shaking\/tremors in hands, arms, legs, or feet.<\/li>\n<li>Slowed movement.<\/li>\n<li>Rigid muscles.<\/li>\n<li>Impaired posture or balance.<\/li>\n<li>Chances in writing or speech.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How can I get involved in Parkinson\u2019s Awareness Month?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parkinson.org\/sites\/default\/files\/Parkinson's%20Awareness%20Month%20Partner%20Guide%202022.pdf\">Parkinson\u2019s Foundation<\/a> has a handy guide for getting involved in your local community.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Post to social media using the hashtag #FutureofPD during the month of April through your chosen network.<\/li>\n<li>Talk about your stories of PD, either as a caregiver of a loved one or as someone enduring the symptoms of Parkinson\u2019s.
