Assisting Hands Home Care in Schaumburg<\/a> was one of around 100 Assisting Hands franchisees that participated in the Hunger Project at the annual Assisting Hands franchise conference in Nashville, TN in September.<\/p>\n

Assisting Hands Home Care hosted a Hunger Project event at this conference in which franchise owners, office staff, and their family members reached our goal of packaging 25,000 meals for senior citizens in just one hour.<\/p>\n

Helping Seniors in Tennessee<\/h2>\n

The healthy meals that we packaged and packed will be provided to senior citizens in Middle Tennessee in need of food.\u00a0 Due to the success of the Hunger Project, Assisting Hands Home Care announced its goal of packaging one million meals in an hour to help hungry seniors.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone knows that there are hungry children and families out there, but I think people forget that there are hungry seniors out there too,\u201d says our owner Daniela Momcheva.\u00a0 \u201cThey have a lot of expenses with medical bills and prescriptions, and sometimes food is the last thing that they purchase.\u00a0 I think that gets overlooked a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Our Goal<\/h2>\n

We are hoping that by 2020, the 15th<\/sup> anniversary of Assisting Hands Home Care, we will reach our goal of packaging one million meals in one hour.\u00a0 The Hunger Project is organized by Feeding Children Everywhere which is a non-profit organization that helps fight hunger throughout the world.<\/p>\n

Their Hunger Project events are one of the many ways that they help get meals to hungry children, families, and senior citizens.\u00a0 By reaching our goal of packaging one million meals, we can help feed one million hungry seniors with just one hour of work.<\/p>\n
