Attendance benefits, veterans and their spouses must meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Veterans and their spouses must be 65 or older to apply<\/li>\n<li>Veterans must have at least one day of service during wartime<\/li>\n<li>Surviving spouses must have been married to the veteran when they died<\/li>\n<li>Veterans must have no more than $123,600 in their retirement account<\/li>\n<li>The total monthly income must be less than $3000 for married couples, $2600 for single veterans, and $2000 for surviving spouses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When you apply for your VA pension through the Department of Veterans Affairs, be ready to answer these questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Do you currently receive, or have you applied for benefits related to wounds suffered during your time in the military?<\/li>\n<li>Do you need assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)?<\/li>\n<li>Do you plan to continue living at home for at least a year?
