In addition to our Caregiver of the year award, Octavia was also chosen as a nominee for the annual Above the Best National Caregiver Award out of 70 National Offices.<\/p>\n<p>Octavia brings such a loving and caring attitude to work each day!\u00a0 She is an extension of the Assisting Hands Family, in which she calls past client family members and wishes them a Happy Birthday.\u00a0 Octavia will often go on her own time to pick up groceries for an elderly client.\u00a0 She even went one hour before her shift started to help a client discharge from the hospital.\u00a0 This made the client&#8217;s day!\u00a0 We are so proud to have her as a part of our Assisting Hands Family<\/p>\n<p>Octavia became a caregiver in 2019.\u00a0 She has worked with clients with dementia, COPD, and renal failure.\u00a0 While she loves each and every client she works with, she especially likes to work with veterans.\u00a0 She takes the time to thank them for their service and listen to their stories.\u00a0 Octavia really enjoys being a caregiver, it gives her a chance to give back to the community by showing love and respect to seniors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are proud to announce the caregiver of the year.\u00a0 With a year that brought so many challenges, Octavia was one bright star within our team in 2020.
