Complimentary Support for Families Living with Dementia

Dementia Care Education – Real Talk

Offered via Zoom every 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm.

See Zoom login when you download the attached PDF.

Who should come: Especially geared toward family members caring for a loved one with dementia, these sessions are also appropriate for any caregiver seeking a more enjoyable and engaging relationship with someone living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. Invite a friend to attend with you!

What to expect: This monthly hour-long course is offered virtually on Zoom. You can participate as much or as little as you like – bring your questions, or attend with video off and mic muted and just absorb. Log in from your phone and listen while cooking dinner, exercising, or taking a walk. It’s up to you!

What it costs: Nothing! This is another way Assisting Hands Home Care serving Columbus gives back to our community. Please join us – you have nothing to lose, and you’ll gain a richer relationship with your loved one living with dementia.

Kate Race Regional Director

Regional Director Kate Race is a dementia care education trainer certified in Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach® to Care (PAC). As a teen, Kate supported the family caregivers for her grandfather living with Alzheimer’s, which inspired her to make senior care her career. She now combines her PAC training with years of hands-on experience caring for seniors living with dementia in both home and community settings. Attendees praise the depth of knowledge shared and the opportunity to ask questions.

“Another fantastic presentation last night. There is so much I’m learning that I wish I knew years ago. This knowledge is providing interaction with my mom that works and provides comfort for both of us.” -Katie, daughter and Real Talk attendee
