Meet the Team

Brett Sanders, Owner

Welcome and thank you for visiting us at Assisting Hands Home Care.  I am Brett Sanders, the local owner of Assisting Hands in Arlington, and I’m passionate about meeting your in-home care needs.  I’ve been a part of the Northern Virginia community for over 20 years, and I’m grateful each day for the opportunity to care for and support individuals that need assistance.  I ensure that our entire team is driven by the same desire to serve others.

As a Certified Senior Advisor and Certified Dementia Practitioner, I understand the vast number of challenges facing older adults as they age, as well as the impacts on their loved ones.  Each client has a unique set of circumstances, needs, and preferences.  My goal in providing non-medical care to our clients is to promote healthfulness, enrich their quality of life, achieve maximum independence, and give peace of mind to them and/or their families.

In addition to the services we provide at Assisting Hands, I enjoy giving back to our community through participation with Meals on Wheels, Dementia Friendly America, Arlington Community Centers, the Northern Virginia Falls Prevention Alliance, and other volunteer organizations.

I spend my personal time enjoying life with my lovely wife and two young boys.  I’m a regular at a local Crossfit gym, a dedicated Washington Nationals fan, and live music enthusiast.

Eileen Milligan, Nursing Director

Eileen received her registered nursing degree in 1995.  She has since worked in pediatrics and raised three children in the Reston area.  Eileen has a true passion to assist people during the process of life and the changes that come with it.  She strives to connect with her clients and develop effective care plans that serve the client and their families best.  When Eileen is not working with Assisting Hands she enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering with local organizations, going to the gym, hiking and traveling.

Brittany Edwards, Recruiting Director

Brittany is an accomplished healthcare professional with extensive experience in dealing with home care operations, customer relations, scheduling/staffing, and recruiting. She has demonstrated the ability to help assisted living and home health organizations achieve and exceed strategic goals. Brittany is most fulfilled when building relationships and helping individuals grow professionally. Her positive can-do attitude, combined with an unselfish desire to help others, make her a key leader on our team.

Brittany is a longtime resident of Arlington, VA and graduated from Washington and Lee High School.  She also has a passion for volunteering with local community organizations and is an active member of Alfred Street Baptist Church.  She enjoys spending leisure time with family and friends, cheering on her son in various sports, and rooting for local Washington sports teams.
