When life’s daily activities require extra help, Assisting Hands® Home Care provides individualized services to people of all ages living in different situations. As a national franchise with over 70 locations, we play a vital role in a health care ecosystem that’s growing in importance as patients seek assistive care outside a hospital setting. At Assisting Hands, we exemplify compassion, dependability, and dignity when serving all our clients.

A Philosophy Built Upon Caring

Founded on the principle of caring for others in the same way we would want to be cared for, we exemplify this commitment to excellence through our nationwide team of trained professionals who feel called to serve others.

Whether it’s providing hourly, non-medical care in the privacy of a client’s home or 24-hour, continuous care at an assisted living facility, a growing roster of clients confidently relies on our services.

Meet Our Founders

Assisting Hands Home Care was co-founded by Dr. Gail Silverstein, a doctor with 25+ years of experience coordinating health care programs in the public and private sectors. Dr. Silverstein’s personal experiences trying to find in-home assistance for her aging father led her to identify a disturbing gap in available health care services.

Co-founder Cline Waddell of Boise, Idaho, decided to join her. Together, they set out to provide a better care alternative for older adults, adults with disabilities, and others who needed extra support and assistance to remain in their homes. Today, our family of franchise owners serves their communities by caring for others in locations across the United States.

Our Mission

Unlike a private investment group, Assisting Hands franchises are locally owned and operated family businesses. Those independently owned franchises provide exceptional in-home care to individual clients at scheduled times that range from hourly to 24-hours per day. Each location’s caregivers help those in need of medical and non-medical assistance maintain their quality of life while remaining comfortably in their own homes.

Our company’s mission is to offer clients personalized in-home support services while assisting older adults, people with disabilities, and others needing assistance to maintain their quality of life. Our services support individuals’ choices and preferences as they age comfortably in place in their own homes with dignity and independence. We assist clients in a spirit of concern for their welfare while gaining satisfaction and a sense of pride, knowing that we bring value to their lives.

What Makes Us Unique?

Here are a few of the many ways Assisting Hands sets itself apart from other caregivers and caregiving organizations:

Caring Culture

Our franchisees have a heart for the business and love helping others with their health – the most precious gift of all.

Advanced technology

We embrace technology and use real-time communications to update all parties involved in the care process. While valuing privacy, our caregivers note relevant client information after each shift and make it available to nurses, doctors, supervisors, and others.

Flexible services

Our offices care for people of all ages, including pregnant women, seniors, those with disabilities, and others. Our franchisees can choose to provide both skilled and non-medical care. We also offer complementary products and services like the Help Alert pendant, which can immediately contact family members, or help monitor emergencies 24/7.

Multiple payers

Individual offices have the option of supporting multiple payers, including Medicaid, Medicare, the VA, long-term care insurance, local state programs, and more.

Regional support

A regional representative who is also a franchise owner supports each location, ensuring service quality across the entire organization. As such, each office has local support backed by a national organization.
