Caregiver Training

On-going training and education for our caregivers helps keep their skills up to date and broadens their awareness to adapt care as clients’ needs evolve. We have partnered with a national caregiver training firm to offer a comprehensive program administered by our manager of nursing, a registered nurse. These training modules reinforce existing knowledge and experience with techniques for supporting common challenges with cognitive decline/dementia, incontinence/hygiene support, and personal care for clients with physical limitations or post-surgery recovery.

Assisting Hands Home Care is focused on helping our clients stay healthy and happy at home, and out of the hospital or rehab center.  We offer our elite caregivers Thriving at Home Certification training.

Our custom training program includes specific modules to expand our caregiver’s ability to support our clients who have specific conditions and diagnoses that put them at increased risk for hospital stays. This means our caregivers can monitor and provide interventions to keep symptoms under control, or escalate care when needed, taking all actions possible to prevent a trip to the emergency room/hospital.

The (5) focus areas Thriving at Home Certification training covers to help reduce the likelihood of a trip to the hospital are:

  • Falls Prevention and Household safety
  • Diabetes/Metabolic Diseases
  • Heart Failure/Cardiovascular Diseases
  • COPD/Respiratory Diseases
  • Stroke Care
