Assisting Hands is extremely proud to announce that CiiCii P. is our Caregiver Champion for April!
We wanted to highlight CiiCii (“the extra I’s are because I’m a little extra”) this month for her actions with one of our most challenging clients. Assisting Hands was called into a senior community in Westminster to help with safety and security for this client. Her dementia was causing significant behavioral changes, including aggression and violence.
The client did become violent at one point and CiiCii stepped between her and two staff members to protect them. CiiCii was able to calm the client down enough to get her into an ambulance, so she could get the higher level of care she needed at the hospital.
The community staff told the office that CiiCii’s handling of the situation was professional and caring. They thanked her for preventing injury to staff members and community residents and will welcome CiiCii and Assisting Hands back to help care for any of their residents that need some extra one-on-one attention.
Congratulations to CiiCii, keep up the great work!
