There was an interesting article from NPR this week about CPR and resuscitation efforts in general. All of Assisting Hands’ caregivers are CPR trained so they can help out in an emergency. But should they?
The article discusses the potential downsides of CPR and really encourages people to discuss this and other emergency options with their loved ones. Even people in good health should have this discussion, because emergencies always happen when we least expect them!
At Assisting Hands, we encourage all our clients to fill out a Colorado MOST form with their doctor and family so that we know what their wishes are and can respect them. You can check out the MOST (Medical Order for Scope of Treatment) program here.
