Assisting Hands held its monthly Lunch and Learn session last weekend with special guest Sasha Story from Nymbl Science. Nymbl is a free app for seniors in the greater Denver metro area. The app was created to help connect the brain and body through dual tasking, to improve balance. Within the app, the users are given an “easy” body movement to do while they play a brain game, which is the dual tasking to help improve balance. Sasha led us through a number of these exercises to demonstrate. That’s why we’re standing awkwardly in the pictures – we’re actually doing squats while playing trivia!
The “training” sessions are only about 10 minutes long, so it’s very manageable to fit into anyone’s schedule and it can be easily done at home. Many thanks to Sasha and Nymbl – check them out and get you and your loved ones moving!
Next month our very own Allie Coates will be presenting a Lunch and Learn on Caregiver burnout and how to avoid it!
