We have recently had conversations with clients in Longmont, Broomfield, and several other local communities about whether or not Assisted Living was right for them. There are certainly cases where Assisted Living communities are needed to provide a higher level of care than we at Assisting Hands can provide.<\/p>\n

However, many seniors prefer to \u201cAge in Place\u201d in their homes. The Rural Health Information Hub<\/a> cites a AARP study that says \u201c90% of seniors want to stay in their own homes\u201d as they age. RHI also notes that:<\/p>\n

When aging in place is supported, the entire community benefits. Beyond the health and wellness benefits of aging in place for older adults, community members can benefit from the wisdom that older adults can share from their life experiences. Older adults tend to volunteer more than any other age group and supporting them in doing so, and in remaining active in their community, will help people of all ages.<\/p>\n
