During the month of May each year, we celebrate Nurses Week, allowing us to recognize nurses\u2019 selfless contributions and positive impact. Polls show that nursing has been the most trusted profession for nearly 20 consecutive years \u2013 a well-deserved honor.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Some of the most monumental moments in our lives are spent with a nurse \u2013 from the day we were born to when we pass away, and through many ups and downs during the journey.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Say \u201cthank you\u201d<\/h2>\n

This is easy to do, but it\u2019s often overlooked. Nurses understand you\u2019re not feeling your best when they\u2019re caring for you or a loved one, but a well-timed and sincere expression of your appreciation can make their day.<\/p>\n

Drop off a healthy snack<\/h2>\n

If you go into a nurse’s breakroom, you\u2019ll likely see the same assortment of treats you\u2019d find in many offices \u2013 cookies, cupcakes, and pizza, which well-meaning patients\u2019 families and physicians often deliver. Consider giving them a snack that\u2019s on the healthier side, like protein bars, fruit, or trail mix. Not only will they feel appreciated, but they\u2019ll have more energy for their long shift.<\/p>\n

Share your appreciation and praise with your manager<\/h2>\n
