According to recent research, there are over 43.5 million adults in the US who have provided free care to someone else in the past year. Most of them offer care to adults who are age 50 and above. The average family caregiver spends about 24 hours weekly caring for loved ones, but there are others who do this on a full-time basis.<\/p>\n

The burden of being a caregiver is typically higher when the person being cared for is a significant other. Caregiving within a family involves tasks like dressing, bathing, and eating, but also duties that are generally expected of a nurse.<\/p>\n

Common Challenges Of Being A Family Caregiver<\/h3>\n

While it can be rewarding to care for members of your family, there are challenges involved that can leave people feeling anxious and overwhelmed. This includes:<\/p>\n

Time Management Issues<\/h4>\n

People realize that they have very little time for themselves and other members of the family besides the one being cared for. Since so much time is devoted to being a caregiver, it leaves very little time for the activities they generally enjoy, like taking trips and pursuing hobbies.
