Once you have shortlisted a few candidates, there are a few things you need to do. Whenever you are interviewing potential caregivers, you should take notes. Make sure you check and confirm the references. If you find a good applicant, don\u2019t take too long to make an offer because they might find another job.<\/p>\n<p>If your offer is accepted, set a proper date to sign the contract. Both of you should keep a copy of the contract. Make sure you request personal information such as the name, address, cell phone number, home phone number and the best time to contact. Here are some useful questions you should ask during the interview:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Do you have a valid driver\u2019s license? Why did you leave the last position?<\/li>\n<li>Can you provide information about your previous employer so we can contact them?<\/li>\n<li>Are you able to prepare meals if required and what type of food can you cook?<\/li>\n<li>What\u2019s your experience cooking for other people?<\/li>\n<li>How do you feel about caring for disabled\/elderly or incapable people? How do you feel about caring for an individual with memory problems?<\/li>\n<li>How do you handle people with mood problems such as fear, stubbornness or anger? How did you handle previous clients with such issues? For instance, how would you handle someone refusing to take a shower?<\/li>\n<li>What type of people have you cared for in the past and what was their diagnosis?<\/li>\n<li>Will you keep daily records for the job? Do you know how to use a computer? How will you keep everyone informed?<\/li>\n<li>Why should I hire you?
