On May 16, 2025, Assisting Hands Mansfield proudly attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Boulder Crest’s newest location in Italy, Texas, the organization’s third facility, including locations in Tennessee and Arizona. Boulder Crest has provided transformative behavioral health care to over 160,000 combat veterans, making a profound impact on their lives.
The event featured a powerful address by Captain Charlie “Plumber” Plumb, a Vietnam War Navy pilot and founding figure of the Navy’s iconic Top Gun program. During his 75th combat mission—just five days before returning home—Captain Plumb was shot down and endured six years as a prisoner of war in the infamous “Hanoi Hilton.” His speech was a stirring tribute to courage and resilience, leaving an indelible mark on everyone in attendance.
