From charming neighborhood strolls to lively holiday markets and holiday-themed train rides, the region invites locals and visitors alike to embrace the warmth, joy, and community spirit of the season.

Burleson, TX

1. Christmas Craft Fair

The Burleson Senior Center is the place to do Christmas shopping. Local vendors sell their handmade trinkets, including jewelry and art, perfect for stocking stuffers and unique holiday gifts. Spend the afternoon browsing one-of-a-kind sewn creations and other crafts, too.

2. Christmas on the Farm

Visit the Russel Farm Art Center for an old-fashioned holiday extravaganza. Christmas craft stations are a main attraction while the Kids Farmers Market keeps the grandkids entertained. Bring a camera to snap photos with a donkey wearing antlers for a true Christmas reindeer experience.

3. Christmas at the Library

Relish a sumptuous breakfast in good company this holiday season at the Russel Farm Art Center. Santa joins guests at his very own Santa’s Breakfast, where piping hot pancakes are served. Participate in the joyous holiday craftmaking and bring a camera to snap festive photos!

7. Strolling Grinch and Olaf

Guess who’ll be at the Mayor Vera Calvin Plaza this holiday season? It’s no other than the Grinch, dressed up in his holiday best. Accompanying him is Olaf, a fan favorite. Both can be seen at the Holiday Farmers Market, a free event to delight the whole family.

8. Lost Oak Holiday Celebration

The Lost Oak Winery rings in the festive holiday season with an assortment of Christmas activities. Sample amazing Texas wine as the grandkids take hay rides and participate in holiday games. The annual Holiday Celebration keeps multiple generations entertained and creates lasting memories!

9. Christmas Family Fun Run

Active seniors sport their athletic shoes for a festive 5K run or walk in the 2nd Annual Christmas Family Fun Run at Grandview City Park. The cost includes a cozy Christmas t-shirt, with proceeds helping to build a new counseling center. There’s no better way of giving back to the community.

10. Disney’s Frozen

Theater aficionados flock to Disney’s Frozen, a musical sensation live on stage at the Plaza Theatre Company. The grandkids will sing along to their favorite musical numbers, like “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” The various show times are sure to meet seniors’ preferences.

Midlothian

1. Merry Movie Night

Film buffs take a front row seat at Merry Movie Night held in Midlothian Community Park. Arrive at 6:30 PM sharp to watch The Polar Express. Bring cozy blankets and comfy chairs, as seats are available on the lawn. This festive movie night is free and open to the public.

2. Midlothian Christmas Celebration

1. Christmas Tour of Homes

The 6th annual Historic Waxahachie Christmas Tour of Homes kicks off mid-December. Tour visitors experience six different architectural styles, including grand Victorians and Georgian Revival mansions. Learn what it’s like to live, play, and celebrate the season in these historic residences.

2. Christmas Carriage Rides

Pick up tickets in downtown Waxahachie for the Downtown Christmas Carriage Rides. A festive carriage drawn by a horse takes guests from Railyard Park down College Street, then to the Ellis County Courthouse before heading back. The carriage is large enough to fit the whole family!

1. Hometown Holidays
