Our Caregivers

Our caregivers are trained specifically to provide in-home care. They have successfully passed extensive background checks and are insured, bonded, and trained in CPR and First Aid.

Assisting Hands® will help you select the best match from our pre-screened group of available assistants, and can generally have qualified help placed in your home within 48 hours or less from the initial call.

Nataly Sanchez
Caregiver of the Quarter, January – March 31, 2026

Nataly has been a caregiver since 2009 and truly enjoys her work. She’s passionate about providing quality care and ensuring her clients feel safe, comfortable, and respected. Building strong relationships and being someone families can rely on is very important to her.

She’s also a proud mother of two. Outside of work, you’ll usually find her watching her son play competitive soccer or supporting her daughter at her dance performances. She stays involved in her Oceanside community by helping nonprofit organizations that support youth and low-income families, and by serving on the City of Oceanside Community Relations Committee.

Maria Sekanovich
Caregiver of the Quarter, October 2025– January 2026

Maria has served Assisting Hands Home Care seniors with compassion and care since 2023 and in the caregiving field for over 30 years.

For Maria, caregiving is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity, as well as companionship.

When Maria is not working, she spends her time traveling and being with family. She enjoys food and cooking all types of cuisines and tending to her property, which has many fruit trees and plants.

Laura Turrubiartes
Caregiver of the Quarter, July – September 2025

Laura Turrubiartes is a San Diego North County native, married, mom of four young adults, and grandma to two wonderful grandkids. When she is not with her family you can probably find her out in nature—camping, riding ATVs in the desert, or chasing snow in Big Bear. She also spends her spare time doing TNR work with stray cats. She is either surrounded by people she loves or by cats she loves!

Laura has been in healthcare for over 15 years—working as a medical assistant, nurse’s aide, and what she enjoys most, serving as a caregiver. Caring for elders is not just a job for Laura—it is a calling. She believes everyone deserves respect, kindness, and dignity. As a caregiver, she builds real connections—hearing stories, sharing laughs, and feeling the gravitas of people’s lives. Even the goodbyes teach her so much.

Laura has been part of the Assisting Hands family since 2024. The office and caregiver support team makes her feel seen, supported, and part of something bigger.
