VA Approved Home Care for Veterans

We are an approved provider of VA Programs services, offering long-term and respite care for senior veterans and their spouses. Our professional and compassionate caregivers provide personalized assistance with daily activities, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. With approximately 76 million baby boomers who are veterans, you or your loved one may qualify for essential care services through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). A little-known Veterans Administration benefit, the Pension with Aid & Attendance, can help to fund this care. This benefit assists those that qualify to be used to assist in keeping them independent at home.

2026 VA Aid and Attendance Award Amounts – 2.8% Increase
Surviving Spouse $1,558/month ($18,697/year)
Single Veteran $2,424/month ($29,093/year)
Married Veteran $2,874/month ($34,488/year)

 

Qualifications for the Pension with Aid & Attendance

The Pension with Aid & Attendance is available to veterans and surviving spouses of veterans who meet certain criteria.

  • It is not necessary for the veteran to have served in a field of battle or overseas.
  • The veteran must have been honorably discharged.
SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
  • Wartime Service (or widow of wartime Veteran)
  • Served at least 90 days of actual ACTIVE DUTY
  • Served at least one day during a war period
  • Honorable discharge

The Aid & Attendance benefit is a tax-free monthly pension for veterans and surviving spouses who need assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, or medication reminders. In San Diego County, we help families understand eligibility requirements, and this benefit may significantly reduce or fully cover the cost of home care services for qualifying individuals.

Yes. We work with VA-supported programs and coordinate with case managers to help eligible veterans access Homemaker and Home Health Aide services. In many cases, veterans enrolled in the VA health system may qualify for home care hours with little or no out-of-pocket cost, depending on their clinical needs and authorization.
