Planning for End-of-Life Care
Planning for the end of life process is a strenuous experience faced by all who are affected. It is a difficult reality to come to terms with for both the diagnosed and their families.
Unfortunately, the burden can fall heavily on the ones caring for elderly or ill parents, which is why it is important to have those conversations before your loved one receives a limited life expectancy diagnosis. Talking about end of life planning is not an easy, so show empathy, but be firm. It is essential to ensure your loved one puts their wishes in writing to receive the care they desire.
Hospice Support at Home
When a loved one receives hospice care, families may need practical help at home between visits from the hospice team. Assisting Hands of Elgin provides non-medical home care that can support daily routines and comfort while you spend time with your loved one.
Assisting Hands does not provide clinical hospice care, medical treatment, skilled nursing, or medication administration. Your hospice provider remains responsible for clinical services and the medical plan.
