Why we show up
Community matters. Today our team (Lisa & Tim) had the joy of helping host the Kaysville Senior Center Halloween Party—running the Zombie Hunt booth, judging the costume contest, and serving a wonderful lunch prepared by the center. We even hung out with Elvis and Cousin Itt! Days like this remind us that connection, laughter, and friendly competition are every bit as important to healthy aging as good nutrition and medication reminders.
“When seniors have regular social opportunities, you can feel the energy change—more smiles, more conversation, more confidence.” — Assisting Hands Home Care, Davis & Weber Counties
Event highlights
-
Zombie Hunt Booth: Quick reflexes and lots of laughter—our favorite kind of “workout.”
-
Costume Contest: Creative, witty, and a little spooky. Elvis dazzled; Cousin Itt stole hearts.
-
Community Lunch: Served by staff and volunteers; good food + great company = perfect afternoon.
Thank you to the Kaysville Senior Center staff, volunteers, and attendees for welcoming us. Your hospitality and spirit made the day unforgettable.
Why social events help seniors thrive
Halloween parties might look like pure fun (and they are!), but they also:
-
Boost mood & reduce isolation through positive social contact.
-
Encourage gentle movement (standing, walking between activities).
-
Stimulate memory & conversation with costumes, music, and shared stories.
-
Build routine & confidence, which supports independence at home.
Pairing social engagement with the right amount of in-home support is a powerful way to help older adults stay safe, active, and connected.
A little extra help at home—right-sized for your family
If you’re noticing missed showers, grooming changes, the same clothes multiple days, or new worries about meals, meds, or mobility, we can step in with just the amount of help you need:
-
Safe shower supervision & personal grooming
-
Meal prep, light housekeeping, laundry & linens
-
Medication reminders & appointment transportation
-
Companionship and social engagement
-
Short FlexCare visits (perfect for “just a little extra help”)
-
Collaboration with hospice and home health when needed
We’re locally & veteran-owned, with a Certified Dementia Practitioner on staff, serving families across Kaysville, Layton, Bountiful, Farmington, Centerville, Syracuse, Roy, North Ogden, Ogden, Washington Terrace, and nearby communities.
