Meet the Team

Meet our Owners

Paula Lord - Managing Director/Co-owner

Hello, I’m Paula Lord. I am the Managing Director and Co-owner of Assisting Hands Spring Hill, serving Hernando & Citrus counties in Florida.

I was born in Northern Ontario Canada and grew up near Niagara Falls.  I learned from an early age about hard work and independence, having worked while putting myself through 6 years of post secondary education. I first earned a Business Administration Marketing Diploma followed by an Honors Degree in Business and Economics from Brock University.

I spent over 20 years as a District Manager in both the retail and financial sectors. What I loved most about those years wasn’t the numbers – it was the people.  Leading teams and supporting clients became the foundation of my career.

Eventually, I felt called to do something more personal. I moved to Florida to pursue my dream of running a business that truly makes a difference in people’s lives. My husband Richard and I share a deep love and respect for seniors and veterans, and that shared passion is at the heart of everything we do.

I’m also the proud mother of my beautiful daughter Alexandra, an RN whose hard work, compassion, strength and dedication inspire me every single day.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me boating on the gulf or spending time with family and friends.

Above all, I’m committed to making sure every client feels supported and cared for with compassion and dignity.

Richard Adler - Director of Business Development

Hello, I’m Richard Adler. I am the Director of Business Development and Co-owner of Assisting Hands Spring Hill, serving Hernando & Citrus counties in Florida.

I’m originally from Canada, where hockey shaped much of my early life and eventually led me to play as a goalie in Sweden for ten years.  I’m a proud father of a son and twin daughters, both talented athletes, who earned volleyball scholarships and continue to be my greatest inspiration.

With over thirty years of experience in sales consulting and business development, I’ve always been drawn to roles where I can help others. That passion eventually guided my wife Paula and I to open Assisting Hands Home Care, where we are committed to providing compassionate and reliable in-home care to families in our communities.

Today, I balance my work in our business with community involvement, including security work at the Tampa Buccaneers football games and hands-on support with our agency. Outside of work, I love bodybuilding, boating and enjoying Florida’s warm, welcoming atmosphere.
