Cara Hummel, BSN, earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Detroit Mercy and has spent more than a decade caring for individuals and families with compassion and skill. Her nursing experience spans wound care, pre‑ and post‑operative care, and operative nursing, giving her a deep understanding of what people need during some of their most vulnerable moments.
Throughout her career, Cara has seen how challenging the transition from surgery to home can be. She noticed the gaps that often appear between hospital discharge, home recovery, and long‑term support—and felt the need to help bridge them. That passion for combining clinical expertise with genuine human connection is what inspires her work today.
Cara brings a nurse’s heart and perspective to every part of the organization. From shaping caregiver training, setting safety standards, developing personalized care plans, or supporting families through important decisions- she believes exceptional home care is about supporting independence and helping people thrive in the comfort of their own homes.
Outside of her professional life, Cara is a proud and active mom of two boys. She and her husband love heading up north with their family to enjoy the outdoors, make memories, and spend quality time together.
