Training and Qualifications
All our caregivers go through caregiver skills training and specialized dementia and Alzheimer’s care training. A sampling of the topics include:
- Managing personal care, bathing and toileting
- Providing support to a client with Alzheimer’s
- Assisting with ambulation and transfers
- Providing engaging companionship activities for clients
- Detecting and reporting abuse
- Identifying the signs of a stroke and other life-threatening emergencies.
Our caregivers are required to go through yearly training that focuses on specialized topics including strokes, Parkinson’s, and dementia.
A Certified Dementia Practitioner oversees each training program, and we take our responsibility to uphold this annual state requirement very seriously. Ongoing professional development is part of our commitment to elevating the profession of caregiving.
At Assisting Hands, our goal is twofold: to provide the highest quality of care to our clients, and to ensure our families can rest easy knowing that their loved ones are in good hands.
