Many of our clients are struggling with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease, Dementia, and Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Everyday life can become a tremendous challenge in these situations.
Take ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) for example. Since ALS affects the brain cells that control muscles, getting around the house and accomplishing the activities of daily life becomes extremely difficult. We cared for a client in Thornton with ALS, and she benefited significantly from our services. Her husband was able to care for her much of the time, but we were able to help while he was at work. All she needed from us was two hours a day, which was enough to keep her independent.
Proactive care for clients with neurological conditions helps prevent complications and reduces hospital admissions. This leads to enhanced quality of life because it promotes dignity, comfort, and emotional wellbeing.
If one of your friends of loved ones has recently received a diagnosis of a neurological condition, reach out to Assisting Hands! We will partner with their doctor and family to ensure we do everything we can to support them.
