Assisting Hands Welcomes Read and VaNae Flake

NAMPA, Idaho (March 9, 2016) – Assisting Hands Home Care today announces it has opened its 96th franchise location in Pearland, Texas.

Assisting Hands Pearland opened in October of 2015 and is owned by Read and VaNae Flake.  It is located at 1600 E. Hwy. 6 Ste. 402 in Alvin, Texas, and will serve Pearland, Friendswood and Alvin.

VaNae Flake, owner and director of nursing, is a registered nurse, licensed in the states of Illinois and Texas, with over two decades of as a geriatric nurse and home health caregiver. After caring for her own grandparents, she realized she could help other elderly people in her community. Read Flake, owner and president, has extensive experience in operations, marketing, and management in several Fortune 500 companies.

The Flakes purchased Assisting Hands Pearland because they wanted to do good for the community with his considerable business background in a way working for traditional companies never could.  They will be working under the guidance of Assisting Hands’ Houston Area Representative Terri Robbins, who owns an Assisting Hands in Humble, Texas.

“We wanted to do something personal, so we looked at several home healthcare businesses,” said Read Flake. “In the end, Assisting Hands’ culture was a good fit and aligned more with our values, and we wanted to be part of the family.”

With six children ranging from eight to 21 years old, family is important to the Flakes. Their oldest, Amber Flake, is the office manager of Assisting Hands Pearland. The Flakes believe their combined experiences will allow them to run a trustworthy, devoted home healthcare business.
